Job description
A skilled Operator provides high-quality meat products and services to our customers. The Operator willperform quality inspections, use knives, meat processing equipment and other tools to produce frozen processed meats and vegan products, weigh, and package products, and ensure that the products areattractive and eye-catching.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
● Perform raw material quality inspections
● Use bowl cutters, mixers, stuffers, injectors, tumblers, smokehouse, knives and other tools to
produce frozen processed meats and vegan products
● Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
● Ensure production output meets customer specifications
● Submit relevant production monitoring forms and reports
● Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
● Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
● Follow strict safety guidelines and company standards
Other functions and responsibilities:
● Attend meetings, training and seminars, as needed.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
● Education or food preparation or meat cutting experience.
● Ability to use hand tools, and meat cutting equipment including but not limited to bone saws,
grinders, slicers
● Proven experience in operating meat cutting equipment (grinders, saw,
slicers etc)
● Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts
● Must be familiar in manufacturing and kitchen environment
● Must be able to work in a cold environment (8-10C)
● Must be willing to work while standing for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed
● Reasonable level of physical strength and stamina
● Strong oral/ written communication and interpersonal skills
● Keen attention to detail
● Safety-conscious approach
● Excellent personal hygiene and cleanliness
Preferred
● NC-II in Butchery
● 1-2 years experience as a butcher using meat cutting equipment
● Excellent knife skills
